Course Review and Comments
We played this course due to it being part of the Charleston Passport and were sad to see the terrible conditions and layout. The course itself has no redeeming qualities, including turf mats for tee boxes on several holes on the front 9. I understand that it can be difficult to grow grass in shady areas, but the tee boxes should be moved to where grass can grow rather than using such an amateur method to remedy this problem. The greens were not overseeded, so they played like hard packed dirt. There was no way to get a read on a putt due to the number of bumps and hops that the ball would take when putted. Also, the members seem to be extremely slow players. One group took ~20 minutes to play each hole, thereby holding everyone up behind them.
On a side note, I'll say that the people were very polite and the food and beverage facilities were adequate.
