Stumpy Lake has the reputation of having the rudest staff of any area golf course, and my experience today confirms that view. I had not been to the clubhouse prior to teeing off and, therefore, had not been told not to drive the cart on the course that day. On the first hole I drove the cart onto the fairway, and a marshal roared up and screamed at me for doing so. Apparently, the staff has not been trained in the etiquette of politeness. I would willingly have accepted being politely told that carts were not to be driven on the course that day; there was no need for rudeness. The marshal yelled that there were signs all over the place telling golfers not to drive on the course. I'm sorry; I was not aware that I had to complete a reading assignment before teeing off.
