Course Review and Comments
What a layout! If you don't bring your "A" game to this Club expect to get beat up.
Very rugged features make this course a visual gem. Even though housing is apparent on the back nine it is not obtrusive. Off the tee you have wide enough fairways that you can wind up and bomb it although there are many tee shots that demand a carry over waste/hazard areas and there are a lot of blind shots. Good to have someone with you who has played the course before, or at least a yardage book available. I found the par 3 particularly interesting. You are forced to carry to the green or else on 3 of the 4 par 3s but the greens are huge on these holes, which is a typical design theme throuhout the course. This being the case finding the putting surface in regulation is no sure bet of making par. Pin placement can be tough and aiming for the pin, not just the green is essential for a good score. I would not recomend this course for high handicappers who produce more than their fair share of mishits/worm burners because of the need for mulitple carries both on the tee and to protected greens. For the advanced golfer however especially from the farther back tees, what a challenging course. A good score here is an accomplishment
