Course Review and Comments
My Dad and I came to Sandhill G.C. while visiting Deland. I would like to give a better rating of the course design although I didn't get to see it.
Upon arriving, we were informed that a group was playing a scramble on the front nine and asked to play the back. There was a gentleman playing alone waiting to tee-off, then a foursome of walkers ahead in the fairway that were playing slow. The gentlemen, being accustomed to the course said that he was going to skip that fairway and move on to the next. We didn't have a lot of time so we opted to do the same. My Dad was making his second shot in that fairway when a ranger drove up in a cart with an immediate confrontational attitude. Instead of politely explaining that skipping fairways was not permitted, she started with "Do you think that you can play anywhere you want to on my course?" Then she insisted that I pay for riding on the cart. I wanted to go back to our van and wait instead.
We went to the clubhouse to speak to the manager. Unfortunately, that ranger was the manager. She was just as rude in front of her guests at the clubhouse as she was on the course. My Dad finished the round although he was not impressed with the conditions of the course.
I will say the clubhouse is a nice facility and this course is probably more accommodating to its local regulars, although I strongly advised newcomers to search elsewhere for an enjoyable game of golf.

Not well maintained, staff very rude. Good old boy mentality, only regulars welcome.
