Course Review and Comments
Stunning but tough course, front nine kinda sneaks up on you with some really difficult holes like #2, a par 3 with 175-195 carry into the prevailing wind followed by a driveable par 4 surrounded by trouble everywhere. Suddenly you're 3-4 holes in and 4-5 over par and the "fun" stuff is all in front of you. Some excellent par 4's on 7 and 8 and then a monster par 5 to finishs the front. Yikes and you really havent been too distracted....yet.
From the blues it's USGA rated at 69.9/122 slope but I think the evaluation team was distracted. Even the pro's have a difficult time scoring here. My advice is if you're going to do multiple rounds, tee of the whites on day 1 and then move back to the blues on day 2-3.
The back nine holes, specifically 11-16 are simply a spectacular, breathtaking adventure, and one you may never forget. This is why we golf in the first place and ladies and gents you're just found yourself in golf heaven. Suddenly you forget you're score so just grab your camera and enjoy.... These are quite possibly the most stunning 6 holes in golf on the planet. I've been fortunate to play worldwide in 10 countries incluing Hawaii and Bermuda and its hard to match this loop on one of the most gorgeous pennisula's in the world. Think Pebble Beach in brilliant blue Technicolour HD.
If you go out early 7:30am then you can easily get your rounds in around 3 hours and enjoy the rest of your day (we were a twosome). We did 3 out 4 days. Later tee times might get you stuck behind some non-golfers. Course is in fantastic shape and generally not too busy.
This course should be on everyone's golf bucket list ! Enjoy
