Course Review and Comments
Peaceful setting. Fair test of golf. The course reminds me of Scotland without the North Sea and the gourse. Wind is constantly in play. Avoid the sand at all costs; I am a decent sand player but these sand craters are too much to handle.. The greens are fast because of constant wind that dries them out. A lot of subtlies to the greens, please place approach shots below the hole; you do not want a downhill putt. A lightly touched downhill putt can easily be 6-8 ft coming back if you miss the hole! My golf partner and I really enjoyed the course; we played 2 days --36 holes the first day and 27 holes the second day. The staff were extremely friendly; the food prepared at the clublhouse and the lodge was delicious. The cabins were comfortable and restful next to the Dismal River and grove of pines that grew only along the river. I hope to be invited back again.

A unique golf experience on a tremedous track. It's like playing golf on the moon. Rolling sand hills in all directions as far as you can see. Not the sound of a plane, car, truck for three days...

Had the honor of being invited to play Sand Hills, Ben Crenshaw's masterpiece in Mullen, Nebraska. There is definitely a reason this course has been rated as one of the top 10 in the world. Absolutely
