Course Review and Comments

The poor course conditions don't warrant the price of the green fees. The rude pro-shop staff didn't do anything to make it a good experience either. I won't come back until things improve dramatically in these areas.

Course Design Rating
Course Design Comments I've enjoyed this layout for a few now, it's too bad it's in such poor condition. It's a pretty fair test from the back tees. Only a couple of complaints on the layout. First, the third fairway is split by a deep wash offering players the option of playing up the right and hitting the approach over the wash, or hitting the tee shot over the wash to a narrow landing area left of the wash. Players opting to play up the right side must play their approach then drive back up the fairway toward the tee to get across the wash. The issue is that it slows play. The eighteenth plays similarly, being split by a large lake. Players opting to play over the lake off the tee must take their cart all the way around the green and back down the fair way to play their approach. Groups stack up terribly on the tee. In both cases, adding cart path access to these areas would greatly speed things up.
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Rating
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments Horrible! Completely browned out, not overseeded, hard-panned bunkers. This course advertises the best bent grass greens in southern AZ. NOT EVEN CLOSE! The green fees are rediculously high for a course in this condition. I've gone away disappointed too many times now to ever come back. I can play courses closer to home that are in much better shape for a lot less money.
Course Service Rating
Course Service Comments The restaurant staff was very nice and attentive. But the pro-shop staff was rude and unfriendly. In addition, we were announed as being on the first tee without warning 12 minutes before our scheduled tee time. No announcement of being on deck or in the hole, just called us off the practice range to tee off immediately.
Course Facilities Rating
Course Facilities Comments Good practice facility with a good short game area and a large driving range with good turf. Too bad they don't put that kind of attention into the course.
