Course Review and Comments
Beautiful setting with some tight drives. The open section (holes 7 to 15) need to mature a bit but the greens were immaculate and (albeit playing through the heat of midday) we virtually had the course to ourselves. The opening hole is not special but the second is tight needing a long iron off the tee for position. The next few holes will punish a wayward shot and the tree in the centre of the third makes the second even tighter. Water makes the middle section more interesting and the 16 is to me the most picturesque and the most fun!
18 is straightforward but the sight of the clubhouse is most welcome. Facilities in the club house are basic but adequate.
Will go out of my way to visit Rioja Alta again
