Course Review and Comments
Interesting mountain course. Reminded me of Trickle Creek in Kimberley, but a little more "rough around the edges". Placement off the tee is premium as it is not overly long (played it at about 6400 yards from the Blue tees) but fairways are carved through pretty dense forest. Greens were great, fairways a bit spotty in places but overall not too bad. Staff was helpful and the guy in the pro shop even wrote down some local advice on our scorecard. My favorite hole was #8 - a really sporty par 5. #11 is a beast! Even though it's downhill, getting to the fairway is even a challenge. #15-18 make for a fun finish. If you are in the area, it is worth a try. Castlegar and Balfour are also worth a look, but Birchbank is nothing special.

Play this course frequently as I am a member. Love the design. Most tees are well elevated. Very scenic and wild course, with no houses or traffic nearby. Lots of wildlife; deer, bears, moose. I
