Course Review and Comments
5 tee boxes make the course great for all standards. If you pick the correct tee box for your standard of golf you will have a lot of fun. If you pick a tee box that is above your standard, you probably won't want to come again! Personally I feel the back tees are for professionals only; I tried a drive from the back tee on one of the long holes and even though I hit it straight, long and true, I finiished 30 yards short of the unplayable hazard. So even if you have a very low handicap, I would recommend stepping up a tee box.
Every hole on the course is interesting and different. Pete Dye said that this is possibly his best course design ever. I'm inclined to agree with him; it's certainly one of the most playable.
Even though the course is still very young the greens play true and fair and the overall condition is imaculate. Service is what you would expect paying $235/round or $175 twilight, and even the limited temporary kitchen facilities serve up a very decent meal. The chef by the way is top notch and I've heard that many come to the course just for the food. Eating outside after the round was a dream. The course is pleasingly "bug" free which is amazing given the amount of water and long grass on the course. If you live near New York and you love golf, this course is an absolute must play. Once the new club house arrives next year and they introduce the planned fore caddies, I suspect that it will be very difficult to book a round in the future. So for now, my advice is to get a few rounds in before the rave reviews start to hit the headlines.

I think golfers that judge playability on distance don't get it or don't play a ton. Distance is only a piece of the equation of difficulty, and arguably the smallest piece for recreational golfers. I

until 2008, living in the north east meant we had no chance to play a Pete Dye designed golf course on a regular basis. Yes at first the price seemed a bit much but after I did the math e.g. All the f

Great course, what a challenge! Wouldn't pay $235 to play it but with the advance rate which includes all the range balls you want to hit and the cart not a bad deal.

The course itself was nice. Certainly not worth the price. The General manager was inflexible, not polite, and treated us poorly. He made what could have been a fun time, miserable. If he were fire

The staff, especially the manager, are incredibly rude. They do not care about the golfers at all. The manager actually came out on the course to argue with us, on a day when we were the only ones o

don't play much near nyc so have no idea if the price is reasonable, but the course is very forgiving, even with Pete Dye's reputation. It was a joy to play for someone who is not very good, as the hi

As a public course golfer who lives very close to Pound Ridge, I wanted so badly to like this exciting new offering from Pete Dye. At $235 a pop, I expected it to deliver an experience comparable to o
