Course Review and Comments

The Strand course at Portstewart Golf Club should definitely be mentioned with the top courses in Northern Ireland. In my opinion the only thing that keeps it from being a top course is the last half of the back nine. Although the holes are not easy by any means they do lack some of the intimidation that the preceding holes have with the dunes. I played Royal County Down, Royal Portrush (Dunluce and Valley), Castlerock, County Louth (Baltray) and Ardglass while in Ireland, and would rate the top 3 in order as Royal Portrush (Dunluce), Royal County Down, Portstewart (The Strand). This course is that good, period!!!!
