Course Review and Comments
PR has the makings of a good course and is without doubt #2 to Mid-Ocean as a course and to Tucker's Point scenically. Tragically, because it is a public course, it is plagued with patrons who take forever to play a round, don't let faster groups play through, don't replace divots and pitch marks, all of which will in time diminish its attraction. The publicity claims it to be one of the best "pay-to-play" seaside courses in the world. This is utter nonsense of course; Hawaii alone has at least 10 better and Scotland and Ireland probably 500 better between them. But it,s a nice course that can, with car, get by on its own merits without the hyperbole.

Meant to enter 3, but system wouldn't let me change my entry.
Can't say I like the design very much; the changes have essentially been to add unnecessary false fronts to greens, increase and deepen the bunkering and create roller coaster greens. Made it more difficult but in the wrong way. Course has been lengthened mainly by establishing new back tees at the short holes, with the result that the 13th is almost impossible to par (because the green is so hard it's near impossible to hold, as even the pros demonstrated in the Grand Slam, and the "signature" 16th, already a silly hole, is now totally stupid and nearly unplayable from the back tee. Good changes have been the new irrigation system, the removal of the hideous casuarina trees that disfigured the course and opening up the vistas on the back nine. Having said all that it's a scenically lovely course and a joy to play on a nice day. |

| Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments |
A month after its opening and with the high usage after the televised Grand Slam the course is already in danger of losing some of its fairways because of the thinness of the grass on several of the holes. This was a huge problem on the original course and commitment needs to be made by the management to limit play somewhat and continue to spend copiously on maintenance, otherwise history will be repeated. |

Service side not fully operational yet. I think their service plans have been curtailed as they've decided that they can't command the top of the market prices that Mid Ocean and Tucker's Point can extort. |

Only just fully operational and will be fine if not spectacular; only thing missing is a practice bunker. |
