Played it when conditions where good for this region of Scotland. Hardly any wind, mild temperatures (19°C) no rain. These conditions made it favourable to enjoy the course from the medal back tees. Nice location. At first it appears close to the village and no spectacular views, but reaching the half way point (on top of the dunes overlooking the sea) you change of idea.
Thick semi-rough requiring all your skills to get out of trouble. First hole is well designed and attracks to go out and play. Next few holes are a bit dull and boring. Locals mainly play 12 holes they cut off from hole 6 to 13. Mind you holes 7 to 10 are probably the best and most spectacular to play. Holes 15, 16 and 17 require blind shots. Either you like or hate the design. I loved it (probably due to playing the best scores there bogey, birdie, birdie). Do not forget to enjoy the view at hole 17 and 18.
