Course Review and Comments
After reading some reviews i was a little hesitant to play passaconaway. When i showed up however, i was pleasantly suprised. Upon entering the clubhouse i was greated with a smile and a welcome. Needing some new balls i figured i would test the staffs service and i asked for a recomendation from the pro shop attendant. Not only was he very knowledgable he gave me multiple choices based on my skill level and preference while also keeping price in mind.He ended up saving me 10 dollars a dozen while giving me a ball i liked better then what i ussually use. After playing the first few holes i couldnt help but realize what a gem this course really is. The greens are in fabulous shape and the overall condition was immaculate. I found the front nine to play very challenging with its length. It was a fairly open concept however if you miss the fairway your in some pretty treacherous rough. The greens are guarded with numerous sand traps to add to the difficulty. The back nine is just the opposite. It is shorter and more troublesome with water and marsh land. Although you dont need the same distance off the tee, accuracy is a must. What is great about the course is it provides challenges for all golfers, but is forgiving enough for those high handicappers to come out and enjoy. After our round we decided to grab a bite at the clubhouse. The menu offers all the great favorites from sandwiches to burgers but also includes some great dishes with steak and chicken. The service here was also great, with smiles and great conversation. Passaconaway is definitely a diamond in the rough and would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a grade a golf club.
