Course Review and Comments
It's a 12 on a 10 point scale. The challenge of this par 70, 6500 yard course is beyond your wildest imagination, yet equally enjoyable to the high handicapper as MacKenzie's design allows alternate routes to the green. The low handicapper will marvel at hole after hole as he pushes the "risk - reward" envelope. You'll be talking about Pasatiempo for years, and coming back every chance you get.

MacKenzie's outstanding design. Done just after he completed Cypress Point, and before he did Augusta National. He lived here, adjacent to the sixth fairway, until his death. Restoration of complete course was just completed in October 2007--OUTSTANDING, EVER HOLE IS MEMORABLE! |

Even in winter the draining is so good, and the greens so true, it can be enjoyed. MacKenzie is known for his greens; you'll fully understand why after your first three holes. And the staff here maintain his reputation through daily cuttings. The condition is a "10+" on everyone's scale. |

Classic, old world, great fireplace to enjoy a cup of coffee on cool morning before teeing off toward the beautiful Monterey Bay. Hang around after your round for lunch or dinner. |

What's not to love? Nearly every hole is dramatic in some fashion, whether it's elevation change, crazy greens or difficult doglegs. From the very start, this course is difficult. You get a breather f

Of all the courses available for public play in the Monterey Bay area (Pebble, Spyglass, Bayonet, etc) Pasatiempo is my favorite. It is extremely challenging, yet a joy to play. And the weather always

The course plays 6600 yards but you will find it hard to believe. The uphill, over-the-barranca 11th hole is 390 yards but I have rarely reached it with less than a driver and fairway wood. Each hole

Nearby Pebble Beach gets all the attention, and for good reason. But Pasatiempo doesn't take a back seat to Pebble, it's a world class course in its own right, for about half the price. This is a mu
