Course Review and Comments
Excellent course and layout, Greg Norman's only Low Country design. Starts out slowly enough with 2 good par 4's and boring par 3 - then comes 3 very solid and risk/reward holes with teeth. By now you know Norman not fooling around, next comes a 190yd par 3 and a short dogleg par 5. You finish front 9 with a serious dogleg par 4 with a false front green - tough!
The back 9 meanders closer to the Okatie river and sound with a testy well bunkered par 4 another short par 5 (over water on a forced drive) and Norman's signature (do I try to drive it) flanked by water and traps par 4. At this point you encounter a couple long difficult holes a par 3, par 4 into wind and another forced carry par 3 over all water. Greast finishing hole a long par 5 double dogleg protected by water on shots 2, 3 or 4.
All in all a great course!
