Course Review and Comments
From the moment we laid eyes on "the castle"(clubhouse) it seems like a magical day at this facility in North Sewickley Township. Kind of in the middle of nowhere, it should soon be a golf destination for duffers everywhere. The staff is friendly, the fairways pristeen and the greens, super fast. We took our time spending over five hours on the course, analizing every hole. It was after I sunk a thirty and a thirty-five footer on the front nine, I realized that Friday the Thirteenth had nothing on me. The back is slightly more challenging with elevated tees, rock formations and deep canyons to traverse. Some of the cartparths are more like goatpaths, especially from the greys on #16. Each hole seemed to be more of a
challenge than the one before, but what an absolute treat! A great round for a great course - bravo, Stonewall! Shakespeare's restaurant, in the clubhouse, is a medieval style dining area with a superb menu and waitstaff. High scores for both the course and restaurant.
