Course Review and Comments
I was one of the first group of players to play on this course. It was in 1962 towards the end of the year when the course first opened with five holes. A sixth was added shortly afterwards so that by playing three rounds 18 holes were played. I was in the Royal Engineers and involved with the construction of the Gurkha recruiting and pension depot. The cantonment had a small hospital which I believe is now part of the Dharan Medical Centre, there was also a power station. There was a water supply pipe from the nearby hills to a water tower in the NE corner of the site. Water was distributed around the cantonment as raw or treated. There was a full drainage system with a sewage treatment plant in the SW corner. Regarding the golf course I still have a score card. We also had a club tie which I still posess.
