Course Review and Comments
The clubhouse was new and as I was considering joining also judged the course on the inflated membership fee. At £630 only Drumpellier is more expensive in the region. I expected great things with the new clubhouse and price of membership but there is no practice area and a putting practice green no bigger than a postage stamp.
Ian the professional and his young assistant were very dismissive of my concerns when I asked if there was a practice area. They were also unimpressed when I asked for a receipt for the £15 I paid and but I asked for this as he took £5 change from his back pocket and never offered me a card.
There was no soap in the toilet facilities and the toilet was down stairs.
You will note so far I have not mentioned the golf course this is because I was so shocked at the surroundings.
The course to quickly cover appeared maintained well but no par 5 and not a very challenging course. Indeed the young boy in the pro shop boasted at never having to use his driver around the course and only uses his iron clubs. I used my driver at the 1st, 6th and 7th beyond that the young lad was 100% correct the course for the money is way over priced.
Back to the facilities, I went to the club house for a tea and a roll to be met by an abusive foul mouth outburst from John the chef. He was not swearing at me but was talking with another member who gestured to him that he was a "wanker". John and he appeared to be having a laugh but I was not amused. Anyway I got my tea and my roll which was brought to me with a greasy thumb print on the top and the chef said "there u r my son that horse was freshly killed the day, straight fae the farm"! Needless to say I left the roll and tea and left this golf club which I remember from previous years was a gentleman's club and renowned golf course.
The lack of practice facilities, decorum and all toilet facilities being downstairs this new club house is poorly planned and grossly overpriced. I would suggest this down market golf course would be priced in the region of £50 for a full membership and £250 for an associate to pay more for a par 68 course lacking in Practice facilities is verging on ripping people off.

I think all the reviews thus far have been far too polite. This is a short course and not challenging. It is looking well and so it should for the inflated price.

I would question anyone who is critical of this good test of golf. No par 5's? - Big deal, there are plenty of challenging holes and all greens are well protected by bunkers. A good water hazard fea

The individuals who have previously rated the course are way of the mark. Although the course is short it has small tight well manicured greens and fairways. The clubhouse is ideal for the majority of

I am a member who pays £630 a year for as the previous reviewers rightly point out poor facilities that are priced at the high end of the market.
For this price i don't even get a locker.

No Practice facilities and very over priced for the facilities. One guy did not wait on urinal and urinated in the shower due to size of facilites.
Decorum and hospitality for a golf club very poor
