Course Review and Comments

I would play this course again as a visitor as I enjoy playing different course. I have 3 memberships for courses which I use for business and was considering Mount Ellen as the course is short and ideal for business client’s not regular golfers but lack of facilities and lack of quality such as towels and soap for the price put me off.

That said the course was nice and in good condition and we did get some enjoyable golf. Greens were in good condition although as stated two holes 11th and 14th need to have work done on them.

Tree at the fourth is also more of an eyesore than a challenge to the hole and would look at cutting that tree well back.

Good greens are needed on this course as your first shot is usually on the green and good stopping essential. As I do not like pitch and runs I like to lob the ball pitch it so yes greens suited me greatly.

Not sure about review below with water feature I can't say I noticed a water feature at all on the course and could be the reviewer is being sarcastic maybe a puddle on a fairway etc but nice dry day when I was there no puddles and fairways running well.

There is now an air hose for blowing off dirt so a good addition to the club.

Water in the ball washers would be helpful especially when it is so warm.

Good mid range course but strongly agree with other reviewers this is way over priced for members and juniors and I would not consider joining even as a business right off I demand value for money and at £630 and £150 for juniors with no lockers available and when they are priced as an additional I suggest a closer look at the pricing structure.

Course Design Rating
Course Design Comments The course is very short and the second shot is very easy.
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Rating
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments Greens in good shape but not as my perfect by any means. 1st and 17th joint green was poor as was the 14th which is a tight green with far to many hills similar to the 11th. Difficult runs are one thing impossible ones is another.
Course Service Rating
Course Service Comments Tried to talk to the pro and discuss kids tuition very expensive for kids lessons and more interested in making a fast buck rather than a well earned buck giving stuff to the kids. At my course the pro does 10 lessons for £30 for under 16's the pro here charges £30 for 3 lessons. Given it is most expensive junior membership in the area i will not be joining nor will my son.
Course Facilities Rating
Course Facilities Comments New build and disappointing.

No Soap no paper towels or for members fee real towels.
