Course Review and Comments
Played mid October as part of the package offered on their website - 2 nights in the fantastic cattages with breakfast plus unlimited golf for £75pp.Course is spectacular visually. Fairways are getting much better going by earlier reviews - you have to remember that these are NOT man made fairways. The greens are a real test with their natural shapes - grass is still a little long but this was down to them being still very young. Yes there are long walks between green and tee but this doesn't lessen your enjoyment.
We played with a fair wind and a little drizzle for a few holes - the wind and contours really make you play a lot of different shots which is a lot of fun. The 8th and 9th are two of the toughest holes I have ever played.
Overall a fantastic course, but I may be slightly blinkered as I shot my best round ever - scratch 80 off the yellow tees( a local, who plays off 6, said even he struggles of any the longer tees)- so not bad for a 17 handicapper!! can you beat that? :)
