Course Review and Comments

Stay away form this place unless you have a big discount coupon or just want to support NCSU. At least wait until cooler weather when maybe they will be able to grow grass again.

Course Design Rating
Course Design Comments Interesting layout; lots of variety in the par 4s. Par threes are quite short from black tees. Par 5s are a good variety of two and true three shot holes. Terrain is great; lots of up and down. Naturalized areas will be really tough as the course matures.
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Rating
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments It has been hot in NC this summer, but the condition was what one would expect at the local muni course, not the most expensive course in the area. Huge bare spots in the fairways (Bermuda thrives in the heat, right?); greens ranged from fair to terrible; but the worst was a the bunkers. Looked like they had not been touched in days, maybe weeks. Hard-packed sand with gullies. Hate focus on the cost, but if you charge this much you raise expectations. Not too surprising that prime Sunday morning tee times were going unused.
Course Service Rating
Course Service Comments For $75 one might expect range balls included; maybe a towel on the golf cart; something more than disinterested staff at the bag drop off. Understanding that it is a new course, the trailer/pro shop/snack bar is pretty low end.
