Course Review and Comments
The course is now a 9 hole corse having previouslybeen 18 hole. Its standard is what one would e xpect of a good municiple course. Its a great course for all levels of golfer. There has been great efforts this year to get the greens in top condition and the Priory Restraunt reopening with great value food/golf deals should be taken advantage of. Its a welcoming course for a beginner and quite a difficult one too with many hazards . It can be a bit tricky first round figuring out the route on 1 or 2 holes. The second hole is a long par 5 for the big hitters but most holes are decent length par 4. Fairways are good and the divots seem to be replaced by the typical users.. The course has been well caredfor in 2013 considering the 5 pound a round. Tees maybe are slightly in need of a boost but I see in the last few visits signs this will happen with new markers and hole diagrams. So if your looking for a decent easy to access mixed ability course its quite appealing and given the price of food 2 meagls for a tenner on much of the menu then its a winner. Food is above the standard of say Weatherspoons and its a classy modern venue. Finally a real treat is if you have a golf lesson Matthew Wotton the club pro will play the holes with lessons along the way. His fees are very decent and he is very suited to teaching.
