Having booked the tee off times and paid $560,we were all looking for a lovely day.On arrival we had to pay the taxi driver for the whole days golf(con,to get more money),we went to the pro shop to get another set of clubs,nobody spoke English,had to haggle about the price of clubs,different prices,for crap clubs,no balls etc,only wanted 1 caddie,were told we needed 2,another con for money,we didnt pay it.Had to arrange for range balls ourselves,these are free.The lady in the shop ignored us,did not speak English,lies,she spoke great English,just another ploy.The course itself is challenging some good holes,but the fairways were saturated by the groundsman,the course was empty,only us 4 on it,greens,the grass was not the usual for the caribean,very dry,no life in it at all,faiways good,but saturated,bunkers,very hard,the tees were great,the facilities were not good,no staff had a smile,or it seemed a chore to just do their job,had to ask for everything,cards etc,no-one seemed to want to do anything,very strange for the Dominican republic.I would not recommend this course to anyone,it will only spoil your day,and it will cost a fortune too,i played the Dye fore,earlier in the week,would always play this,great course+very friendly staff,AVOID the LA ESTANCIA.
