Course Review and Comments
I visited Am Habsberg Golf Course today with my wife. We also brought our 12-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. Only I played, my family came along for the walk. A 3-ball held us up for 4 holes and when I asked to play through, I was told in English: "go home". There are many US forces in this part of Germany and the xenophobic implication was clear. Etiquette of members throughout the club is poor. Staff are unsmiling, snappy and unhelpful. After our round, we tried the driving range at the Golf Academy. When we were finished (quote: "Make sure the children behave, this is a smart club"), we noticed staff rolling eyes at us and whispering behind our backs. No, the kids didn't misbehave. We're actually really disappointed. Instead of finding a local, friendly club welcoming visitors, we encountered arrogance, bad golfing and lots of attitude. No way will we return, try Marktheidenfeld instead where you find friendliness, professionality and where staff can't do enough for you.
