Course Review and Comments

As a member of this club I would like to respond to the previous reviews. The course is a small club run by the members for members & visitors. There is an honesty box for payment and no restrictions for visitors.
The snobbish and poorly informed review from Mr Miles is far from fair. There are clear signs erected to state that the course is pay and play. I am not sure who he gave his money to - despite there being clear signs telling a visitor where to pay. Whoever "relieved him of his cash" also relieved our club of the cash as no club member would have taken money from him directly.
The criticism of the clubhouse and set up is unwarranted and snooty. There are many small clubs in rural areas with similar setups as ourselves and we do not find these to be a problem. The sort of views shown here smack of snobbishness from a member of a large club. We are small club with an aim to make golf affordable for all so we only have a portacabin for a clubhouse and although this might not be what Mr Miles was after it suits our needs. We have no staff based permanently on the course as we cannot afford this.
The course can be wet underfoot after heavy rains but slagging it off is not fair. Many clubs take time to drain after monsoon conditions.
We rely on the honesty of visitors to pay at the box clearly marked for day tickets. There are toilets and changing facilities available.
Also - how many clubs would he have walked onto on a Saturday - without a reservation and accompanied by a 7yr old beginner - would even have let him tee off?!
We are disappointed that the visitors did not have an excellent time on the course but feel that the reviews are over the top in their criticism and should be ignored.
