Course Review and Comments
So many who golf at Grossinger's rave about the "Big G", which is an very good course, but few know about the "Vista". It is a nine hole course, designed by Tillinghast in 1925. It proves to be quite challenging!
The Vista is similar to what I would imagine a links course would be like in Scotland or Ireland; with a rolling terrain and not quite as manicured as other courses we may be accustomed to. My favorite hole is the ninth. It's quite exciting and to describe it would take away from the element of it's surprise!
The views from the course are spectacular! Once seen, it is easy to understand the origin of the course's name-the Vista.
Another plus about the place is that it is not a busy course. There are times that I am the only person playing-like your own private course at times!
The staff people are great. The clubhouse displays pieces of the Grossinger Hotel history. The building itself needs some TLC. There is a driving range, putting and chipping ranges.
I highly recommend it!
