Course Review and Comments
I have just returned from golfing at the Glenboro Golf and Country Club and I do not see myself ever returning again. The course is good, the service we received was horrible.
My wife and I decided to take our young kids golfing for the very first time. They were not going to hit many shots, they are 4 and 6 years old, but they were going to play some if the course was not busy. I called the course Saturday afternoon to see if the course is generally busy on Saturday nights and was told that they were not. My family and I arrived at the course at 6:00. The reception I received was cold at best. The young lady (far from a lady) preceded to ask her co-worker if she thought it was "OKAY" that we rent carts, because they were planning on closing early if it was slow. Again it is only 6:00!!! Then she asked me how long I thought we would be. I replied that I did not know as I was with my Wife and young kids. She very rudely continued to check me in and rent me carts.
I should have left at this time!!!!!!!!
As we were golfing, there were only 2 other golfers on the course who we gladly let play through in order not to impede their game with our slow play.
When we were on the 7th hole, the 2 young "ladies" drove out onto the course to see where we were, cursing like truckers the whole time. Need I remind you that I have my 4 and 6 yr old children with me. Classy.
When we were on the 9th tee, we were able to hear them sitting out on the deck talking about us and how long we were taking. I quote: "OMG, I can't believe they are still out there." We weren't even the last ones on the course, just happened to be the last ones they would have to wait for because we had carts.
After we finished and I returned my cart, she gave me a very fake "Thank-you". I preceded to inform her that we could clearly hear them talking about us and how long we were taking. Her response: "That's okay." Are you serious, "that's okay." ?????
By the way, we were in our van and leaving at 9:28 PM. Yes, that's a long 9 holes, but not overly late to be leaving a golf course. We may of actually stayed for a meal, except all the lights in the clubhouse were already turned off.
It occurs to me that this golf course has reduced rates in the evening in order to attract golfers, but if this is the general attitude of the staff, I can see why they are not busy. I would not return at any price!!!!!!!!

Really great 9 hole layout. Very difficult lies as almost every hole has hills. Course was in wonderful condition and service was excellent. A true gem in Western Manitoba!
