Course Review and Comments
Sharpen all your short game skills on this beautifully landscaped pitch & putt course with lots of older trees for shade, mountain view, lush green grass throughout, holes 95 to 175* yds (*#4 has 30 yards of useable fairway grass behind the mat tee for a straight shooter, or lay-up for a bullseye chip & 1 putt, as this particular green is a challenging 30 ft diameter with bunker on right). Course is unlit, but the well-marked 225 yard Driving range (choose mats or grass) opens early with sun comfortably above or behind you from 10 am to sunset) stays open & is well lit 'till appx. 10 pm. (Closed during rain.) 2 brand-new practice bunkers with reg. size flags, a separate challenging 5 hole practice green with a large area of chipping grass 1" cut on the eastern side. Great people run the shop, grill, & tap, and or two friendly (but not pushy)pros (1 lady 1 gent) at various times for one or more lessons on request. (I tried 1/2 hr with each a couple of months apart and saw marked improvement both times.) Shady summer parking under 40 foot maple-style trees across the narrow street only 30 yards from the Clubhouse. (Even non-golfers drop by to to take out the best (taste and price) hamburgers & fries in East San Gabriel Valley.)(My first ever drive over 225 yards was after a few days of lunches consisting of "super burger" combination. Coincidence?) Located South of the 210-Foothill Fwy. Take Grand Ave. South 1/8 mile, Left turn lane East onto Dawson 1/4 mile. Course takes about 1 1/2 hours for one, up to 2hrs for a foursome. (I believe a cart may be available for seniors but call about this one.) Playing through or waiting is a comfortable experience as any 3 par is a very short wait.
