Course Review and Comments
Like the subtlety of a fine wine, you leave the course knowing on one level it is a municipal course, and as time passes, you are left with the sense of how wonderful the natural setting and ensuing experience really was. . . Who would think you would walk essentially flat course so easily, yet be served such an extraordinary sense of the awesome outdoors, etc. . . . On paper, the course is not attractive -- it's an old, short, public course. . . In the flesh however, the holes were ample distance, BUT AGAIN, in the back drop of the awesome Redwoods, of course, mature for probably hundreds of years, there was significant challenge whilst enjoying the great outdoors as only the NoCal Coastal Redwoods can offer.Ratings

| Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments | It was definitely functional, playable -- maybe a perfectly manicured environment by the maintenance people elsewhere is what the public seeks - -however, the natural setting and ambience among the breath-taking forest of redwoods is so far above the usual golf experience that "in the net," I don't think any of the courses in SoCal can match the overall experience (one caveat however -- I played in good weather). |
