Course Review and Comments
My son, Jacob, and I were able to steal away from the rest of the family (vacation) for an evening at Elmbrook. We were pleasantly surprised! Finding Elmbrook to be one of the least expensive tracks in town, my expectations were not too great, and seeing the first hole as we entered the parking lot didn't raise them. It's a rather non-descript, downhill par 4 with little in the way of risk/reward shot making (just a pound and putt hole). But the course showed it's teeth a bit more as we struggled in and up toward the ravines and woods that make up the back nine. Several tee shots require carry over fescue or ravines, and quite a few of the holes require approach shots to elevated greens.
I'm looking forward to returning (now that I know the course a bit better) to take back those 8 strokes that Elmbrook's tricky greens stole from me.
