This course is on my must-play list whenever I visit northern Michigan. The views on this course are spectacular - second only to Bay Harbor in the immediate area. Course has gotten a bad rap over the years for being too harsh and unfair. Played with a local golfer who was playing it for the first time and he loved it. He wished the course's reputation hadn't kept him from playing it the last 10 years. One of the best things about this course is the abscence of houses - only condos behind 18th green. You truly get a moorish Scottish feel during the Michigan fall weather. It is also a relative bargain for the area - only $49 after Labor Day.
