Darkhorse represents a good California foothills course. It has many holes with significant elevation change. Getting on the green is your first challenge. Once on the green the greater challenge begins. The greens can be receptive, if local rain/snow have softened them, or diabolically hard and fast. You will want to play the course at least twice to have a good chance of scoring well. While not exactly "target" golf, course knowledge will definitely improve your chances of going low. Reasonable rates allow for extended play. If you are in the Auburn area plan to add Darkhorse to your list.

Dark Horse Golf Club is a wonderful tract offering an excellent variety of holes, great bunkering, numerous elevation changes, generous greens. Everything a golfer looks for.
