Course Review and Comments
Strange Course. Let me start off by saying that I LOVE courses with elevation changes. This course is definitely full of elevation changes and some dramatic tee shots (like the 16th which has a stunning view). However, I thought it was poorly designed. You could never walk this course. There was up to a 3 minute drive between some of the holes whereby you leave the course and drive through the community. Very strange.
There are odd holes, like the 4th where you need to hit no more than a 6 or 7 iron to lay up, only to be faced with a 210 yard shot into the green. Also, there was one hole on the back nine where a solid 250 yard drive down the middle leaves you 150 yards out, into the wind, on a hole that is so severly uphill that it plays close to 200 yards, with a small green surrounded by very high grass which gobbles balls up. If you are on the left side of the fairway or worse, you will need to hit a huge draw with a mid iron and make it stop on a dime. Just an idiotic hole. The green is set up to recieve wedges, not drawing mid-irons.
I also couldnt find a yardage book anywhere which made the course very tough for a first time player.
Fairways on most of the holes are too tight and anyhting that misses by just a fraction bounces off into the woods and is lost.
Though this review is negative, I didn't hate the course. It's just easier to point out the faults. It was in good condition and there were some really nice holes.
I wouldn't run back here, but would like to go back once and play it again now that I have some experience.
