Course Review and Comments
Cougar Canyon Golf Course just east of Trinidad Colorado has earned itself a top rating in golfing circles. The golf course is maturing very well and the playing conditions are kept in top shape. This can be a sneaky course if played from well back, and just as sneaky if you play from shorter tees. Every hole is challenging, but the Par 3 16th. is in a whole other realm. If you don't "hit and Stick" you will be in BAD trouble. My golfing partner dropped her ball right in the middle of the green and just missed a birdie putt while I bounced over the back and ended up having to hit "away" from the green to get what I needed to get the ball high enough to land on the green and then it rolled off the front. I will just leave it there, but one hole may make or break a number on the scorecard but we aren't Pro's so it really doesn't matter. The Superintendent and grounds crew deserve Kudos for the fabulous shape the course was in when we were there. We will be back..

A group of 12 played. The course lost our reservations and we had to use the cart paths only. No prior information was related to us about cart paths only. Many in the group were seniors. Reported
