Course Review and Comments
I am considering membership at the course, so I was able to play as a guest. It’s not a long course but I found it more challenging that most of the public courses I play in the Sacramento area. Fairways are tree-lined and narrow. Some are very narrow. When I play again I will consider leaving the driver in the bag on some of the par 4’s. The greens were much faster than I am accustomed to and had a lot of break. One green has sun damage I had to avoid. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. Many players walk the course, but it is a little hilly like you normally see in the foothills. Cold Springs has a bar and restaurant, but I did not try the food. I played on a Wednesday at 11:30 and immediately caught up to the group in front of us. The parking lot was full, so I suspect some club event or tournament was on the course before me. My round took 4.5 hours, which was a little disappointing for me as someone who is considering membership in part to avoid the long rounds of public courses. I am looking forward to playing it again.
