Course Review and Comments
I played last Fall and enjoyed y round with friends.
I went back June 30 because of an add i seen on there web site special on membership, I'm a member at Royalwood a close by course that has high water problems every year for two to three months ever spring and early summer. Not wanting to be a member of two swamp courses I asked the Conner a young person in the pro shop it I coupe play a few holes to see the course condition at this time of year. Conner said go ahead seeing it was raining and I said because of thatI would only play a few holes to see lower elevation drainage. It was understood I would be contacted by Brian in a couple of days to explain conditions as in my experience Chilliwack's
specials can be deceiving as to what you get for way you are paying. As I was getting my clubs out of my trunk I noticed a man talking to a line painter and asked if he was Brian, he said yes so I said I was interested in the promo special online and added I was a member at Royalwood and was unhappy with high water every year. This Brian said to me if you want to take a walk on the course OK but if you take a club on the course you better go in and pay a green fee I said I was wanting to see course condition and this cannot be done with out hitting a few balls off the fairway again he said if you take a club with you pay a green fee.
This Brian in my opinion is a bit of a moron he could see my Royalwood membership tag on my bag and having been told I was a member till the end of Sept. 2012 I could drive next door and play free from sunrise till sunset so I wasn't trying to scam a green fee I'm a 63 year old retired disabled senior I love playing golf and I play for needed exercise.
Brian was trying to tell me what a good deal this promo was. in reality its a bit of a scam being $2000. gets you 6 months of green fees @ 373.33 a month or good golf July to the end of Oct. or four months @ $560. so you see why I say a bit of a scam. This Brian was telling me that this is the best months to play so a fantastic value. May and June are equal to September and October. So the deals is $2000. for 2 prime months of golf. This isn't a good deal at all. In this world economic environment of uncertainty the short season Canadian golf business has to go the extra mile to get monthly membership dues coming in greater numbers this will never happen with the smoke and mirrors promo scams. We are not all Morons. If you want to offer a deal offer something that will attract new members. There are a hundred pissed off week day senior members at Royalwood. Chilliwack could have these members paying monthly (yearly) dues to Chilliwack.
at the right price. Leave the weekends for full play working members and walk on green fees. Fill the week with senior retired members at a reduced senior rate. You have to be creative in these hard times to keep the money flowing in, 60% is better than 0% and the beauty to you is the seniors won't getting the good rate forever, they die off on a regular basis, they aren't cheap they just like value. You need the senior members dues 60 and over. they always pay in full on time and don't abuse anything and like stopping after a round for a beer or coffee and some lunch a couple of times a week, more money coming in!!!!! Think about it.
