Course Review and Comments
I would not recommend Cherry Valley Golf Course. The condition of the grass was decent, but there weren’t many holes with character (little streams try to capture the essence of ponds and bunker locations are odd). From the beginning, Cherry Valley’s Pro Shop employee, who also acted as ranger, told us the wrong cart numbers. When we finally got the correct carts, I noticed that the metal screw connecting the bag straps to my cart was loose and I had to tighten it. Seven holes later, my bag fell out due to the plastic clip simply being old (not because I over-tightened the strap or anything like that). Our group was originally told to tee off at Hole 1, and halfway through the 1st hole, we were told that we couldn’t finish and were to relocate to Hole 10 and begin there; the reason for this was because we looked like amateurs and a group of twelve felt like we would hold them back (one member of our group was affiliated with the PGA and the other 3 simply needed to warm-up as we eventually hit better). Halfway through Hole 10, the Pro Shop employee/ranger told us to let the group of four behind us play-through. Doing so would have been foolish and there was no need to do so because we almost finished Hole 11 while they were still on Hole 10. To add insult to injury, when the ranger interrupted our outing, she tried to convince us to check out Cherry Valley at twilight. I would not recommend this course.

If Allen could keep the ball in the fairways he could not complain.
The improvements made to the course and the clubhouse are great.
A great value and a good course.

Cut the grass. The course is 90% rough. Speed of greens inconsistent. Maintained poorly.
Lots of wet boggy areas.
Save your money and go to a real golf course.
