Course Review and Comments
We played this course as part of a larger trip and I have to say despite it being a beautiful part of the world and an incredible piece of design, there are a few issues they have to resolve.
Firstly the greens were very poor, not helped by our caddie who told us that the reason they were poor is because they don't want to cut them before the Scottish Open?? Well sorry, our driver told us we were paying 175£ for the privilege of greens that are only for the tour guys!!
The caddies were poor, we actually got more information from the free course guide the (very professional) starter gave us, in fact he told us to watch out for the caddies!!!
One caddie in our group even had the Gaul to start instructing one of our members on how to play, sorry but you don't get that at Carnoustie or St Andrews!, these guys were straight off the Social Security scrap heap and actually ruined our enjoyment of the day.
My advice is play the course, don't take a caddie and enjoy the scenery and tranquiity because this is a rather special place that doesn't need a bag carrier droning on about how he has to pay for his wife and kids off caddie fees and tips after the first hole!!!
