Course Review and Comments

I play this course a lot because of proximity, value, and decent course conditions. It's plenty challenging due to the trees lining nearly every fairway, some well placed fairway bunkers, and out of bounds where there are no trees guarding the fairways.

Can you keep your tee shots in the fairway? If so, you can score on this course. If not, you'll have a frustrating day on what should be a fairly easy course.

Course Design Rating
Course Design Comments Nothing too impressive but it's a good challenge for a mid handicapper. Trees and/or out-of-bounds come into play on most holes making tee shots important for scoring.

Houses on nearly every hole. No complaints on the design... you get more than you pay for.
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Rating
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments The course was in very good condition. The greens were excellent and I wanted to get my shot at playing before the greens were punched and sanded.

This may be one of the top courses in the area for winter play. It drains much better than most courses in the area.
Course Service Rating
Course Service Comments They are friendly in the pro shop. You pay your money and go play. This is not a high end or resort course. It's a public course that gets a ton of play due to it's good conditions and very good conditions in the winter/wet months.
Course Facilities Rating
Course Facilities Comments Nothing special. Pro shop is decent for a budget public course. The driving range and putting green are average... but at least they have one. The restaurant is average.

Overall, Capitol City is a good value if you're out to play some golf. It's not a golf "experience" but a great place to get together with your buddies for a little friendly competition on a decent course with very good greens.
