Course Review and Comments
After leaving the clubhouse and paying 35.00 for a 12:12 tee time that they called a twilight rate we were in disbelief. A Fazio course with range balls, bottled water, cart and 18 holes for 35.00!!!! A a great lunch for next to nothing with great service and then headed for the tee. Lots of room for tee shots. The greens had that perfect texture. Not alot of undulation in the greens but nice. Tees, fairways, and greens all exceptional condition for the time of year. Lots of big dramatic waste areas. Played the Gold tees about 6900 yards with a close friend who is 67 yrs old and he proceeded to make 4 birdies on his way to a 72. Got it up and down 9 times inside 100 yds. In comparison to alot of other courses with big breaking greens this is not a hard course to get it up and down and is a course you can hit the driver alot because there is so much room off the tees. In fact there is more room than you think almost everywhere. The 16th hole is almost 500 yds and we played it into a 20 mph wind and that was a little obscene (par 4) but the rest of the course was a literal and visual delight. Shot 75 and felt like I sprayed the tee shot all day. You really have to hit it bad to hit it off of the golf course. A very nice course and was a beautiful change from the course we played the day before that was lined with houses and condos on every shot. Butterfield has not a structure out there. Lots of solitude and striking golf holes. All of the staff was great.

Close to the airport, easy to get to. Desert setting with wide fairways, dunes. You won't find a Fazio course you can play for these prices.
