Course Review and Comments
As a bogey golfer, I visit various courses to have fun. I am in awe of what good golfcourse architects can get out of some land! I don't expect to break a course record. I HAD A BLAST at Bandon Dunes playing both Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes. The guy who commented that this doesn't compare to Pebble or Pinehurst... get over yourself! We've all done that. Now go play golf to have fun. While walking on Bandon Dunes the night before playing it, I happened to see #16 and almost had an attack! I went to bed wondering how I was going to play that hole. Approaching the first tee I was already thinking of that 16th hole. I have to say that my caddie, Dave Phillips, was amazing. As a low handicapper himself, he made me see so much in each and every hole both days through the green. Guess what... I parred 16... Like Pebble the deer are tame letting us come within 10 feet of them. If you want evn more fun, then go to McKees after your round (Guinness on tap!) If you have to break every record known to golf every time you go to a new course, guess I won't believe you and I suspect you wouldn't be fun to play with anyway. But if you want to stand on a tee box and see a green up above seeming to float on top of the Pacific Ocean, if you want to play huge fescue greens, if you want undulating fairways, if you want drop dead gorgeous views that make focusing on the next shot very difficult, if you want Shoe in the caddy shack to take SUCH good care of you, if you want personable starters and an amazing caddie, then head for Bandon. Of course, if none of that appeals to you, you better stay home. Otherwise, see ya at McKees this Christmas!

An intriquing layout that tests the skill level of all handicaps. Generous sized greens with undulations galore.Take a caddie.

Played in late March. Yes, there was every type of weather (rain, wind, hail, cold) but none of it lasted too long, and it didn't diminish the enjoyment of playing these 3 great courses. I like Paci

Why play Pebble? The courses are in better shape and the staff is wonderful as opposed to the pompous and snooty staff at Pebble. The views are the best on the west coast...a total first class operati
