Course Review and Comments

Now called Cattails, the front 9 is established and the back is a year or two old. The front is largely flat with little water and few bunkers. The condition yesterday was iffy. Tee boxes were torn up. The hole markers at the boxes were incorrect (showing the wrong hole setup and yardages). The fairways were as well maintained as my backyard. They have tried to set the back 9 up as more challanging and varied and, in time, maybe that works. But currently it is unplayable. Bunkers are filled with small rocks. The rough and gulleys are comprised of overgrown weeds and filled with debris. Tee boxes are uneven torn up. The fairways are perhaps 70 percent grass and the rest just dirt. What grass there is has not firmly adhered yet so the smallest divot will take a wide patch of earth for a ride. The guy at the pro shop was nice, but they offer Pepsi and water and two candy bars. No other food items are available. And there are no balls, tees, tools, or anything else at the shop. There are too many other decent courses in the area to ever go back.
