Course Review and Comments

Most enjoyable experience, especially my par on the 17th. Some challenging holes, well, all holes were challenging because I'm a 27 handicapper but even so, the holes were challenging but not impossible. I enjoyed especially the way the wind influenced club selection (a new experience for me since I live in Australia where wind is not such a significant factor in one's game). Impressed with bunkers although I found them to be more forgiving than that found on the average golf course, especially the fairway bunkers. The rough was ruthless, and I had plenty of experience with that. Quite unforgiving which forced me to focus harder to avoid it. I loved the water running alongside some of the holes and felt compelled to take on the challenge to clear the water. At times though, sanity prevailed and I chose the safer option.

On the hole, the best course of the six we played while in the western cape, the others being bellville, clovelly, Stellenbosch, pearl valley and Hermanus.

As a final comment, I did miss the experience of a caddy. We were not told when we originally booked the the option of a caddy was there but had to be pre-booked.
