I came on holiday to scotland and I looked up an old friend who invited me to Alloa Golf Club, I couldn't beleive he made me pay for my round. However I'm glad he did because the pleasure I got in the challenge in playing this course was second to none, this course might forgive the odd wayward tee shot but not often it has to be said, but your second shot to green will test your ability and imagination. This course is a james Braid course and his design is unforgiving for shots that are not straight. If you fade or draw then make sure you have the imagination to get out of trees or a line of shot which could take you into a bunker. I have never enjoyed a round of golf so much. My score was 87 and I am a 7 H'cap, the course from the yellow tees is 70. The proffesional was very helpful and the clubhouse staff very welcoming, food was excellent and I will be back to conquer this course next year.
