Course Review and Comments
Due to lots of rain this season, the staff at the Algonquin had difficulties mowing, etc. and should not have driven carts or work vehicles on the course. The course was in horrible shape, deep ruts from carts on the fairways (which you could not tell where they began and ended) made the course unplayable. My spouse and I and a few friends were there to have a glorious golf experience but it was like golfing in a cow pasture. We were on a two for one Go-Golf pass and the $140 plus that was changed was way to much due to the course conditions. It should not have been more than $50 for 2 to golf that course in this deplorable condition. I would not recommend it to anyone.
I have golfed the course in its hey-day a few years back and it was great but now it will need more than a lot of work. The current damage will be costly to repair and letting golfers go on the course is not fair to the golfers because they are not being given their money`s worth. The course is in sad and deplorable shape and there is really no reason for the amount they are charging.
