Sand Moor Golf Club

First time playing sandmoor golf club today. We had 2 temporary greens during our round, apart from that the course was in great condition considering all the rain we have had recently. Friendly welcome from the pro shop when we arrived and checked in. Fairways were dry in most parts and the greens were rolling great even though they were quite soggy. Will definitely be back when the weather warms up.

Was excited about playing this course as for £60 each a round was expecting a high standard. Arrived at the clubhouse and was met by a young girl in the pro shop who dealt with the booking, however didn’t explain anything about the course or direct us to where the first tee was without us coming back in and asking, despite us explaining it was our first visit. We then played the first hole off of a matt which was fine, 2nd hole tees were closed. So we skipped onto the 3rd where the tee box seemed to be open with no sign to say it’s not but the flag wasn’t in. At this point we called the pro shot, where what we assumed was the same girl, said oh sorry it’s on a sheet of paper in the pro shop and all members get an email- that’s holes 2,3,4 are closed, she was fully aware we were paying for just a round and had paid full price. Due to the disruption and the lack of any signs or indication of what tee was which other than the scored card we then spent the rest of the day essentially map reading from the card. Overall the course was well kept and the greens were nice, however they should not be advertising for a 18 hole game at full price when they can only offer 15 holes. Especially at the price of £60 each! Will not be returning.

Disappointed, £60 is too much money, we wasn’t informed about a couple of winter greens or the omission of a great par 3, just took our money and said nothing

Start of by saying how much I love this course normally would say its probably one of the best in West Yorkshire. However the day we played it was 45 pound a head. Think they were 10 temporarily greens and 7 in play and 1 hole not in play at all. Like I say normally love this course and all of its facilities. However I think 45 pound a head for 7 greens in play is taking the mick a bit. Won't stop me from revisiting but will only play in the summer from now on.

Not a major issue but no indication when booking, or when signing in to the course, that one of the holes was out of commission. Have to expect that in November but would have been nice to know. Rest of experience was fine. Good track

As good as it gets in the area. A wonderful layout in great condition within a wonderful setting. Thoroughly recommend to anyone considering playing. A real gem of a venue.

Played here on a sunny autumnal Monday morning. Despite everything going on in the world everything here was as normal and as close to perfect as you are going to get! Course in great condition with fast smooth greens. Helped that I managed a victory over the old man as well!

The course was in fantastic condition considering the poor weather we had last week, I will definitely be back. Unfortunately we had a 4 ball in front of us who were not willing to let us through and the round took 4hr 30mins

We had a great day at Sandmoor. We were blessed with great weather and the course is lovely. The course is really high quality with particularly tricky greens as I found out to my cost! This really is one of the top courses in Yorkshire and available at a price that is highly competitive compared with its neighbours. Highly recommended and will play again.

This is our fourth round here recently and for £40 a round on GolfNow this is a steal. Always in great condition with a challenging and interesting lay out. Tee boxes well kept and level, fairways lush and greens absolutely spot on. We almost had the course to ourselves on a Monday afternoon and with the sun shining, it was a superb way to experience what I would say is a proper course. Lots of challenging holes with four par 3’s which would challenge any level of golfer. My favourite holes are hole 1, 16 and 10. Go and experience this course, you will not be disappointed.

This is a course I've wanted to play for some time and it didn't disappoint! The condition was great and the course was challenging without being ridiculous. A good all round experience.

This course is a fabulous layout in superb condition. Every hole presents a challenge and the greens were the best I’ve played in this year.

Superb value and look forward to returning
