Just Fantastic
Played the course after a very wet week. Other courses in were closed but Headingley was not and was impressively playable on fairway and greens.
The course design is great and provides a fair but testing challenge of golf, with some real memorable holes throughout the round. At one point we had special moments with buzzards and kites flying round, observing our progress.
Would recommend this club and course to anyone.
Heard great things
Wasn’t disappointed at all with this course so close out of winter and what great condition, greens were amazing and just a great place to be.
Great course
We love playing this course & it always holds up better than most to the weather.
Give it a go,you won’t regret it.
A genuine gem, hidden amongst many good courses in Leeds
This course hasn't really been on the radar with our society, mainly because of all the other options available in Leeds/Bradford, but we thought we'd give it a try anyway. We paid £35 for the round and steak pie/fish and chips and what a bargain. This course is stunning, the greens were fantastic for the time of the year and the holes are nicely laid out and very picturesque. We managed to choose a day with snow, sleet, wind and rain but even that didn't ruin our enjoyment of what some of our 10 players said could be up there with the best courses they've played in the area. The pro shops chaps were really accommodating and pointed us to a cafe next door for brekky and we had a good chat to some of the members in the clubhouse before our round. We are already chomping at the bit to get back to this course in better weather and I think it would impress any golfers who love a 100+ year old course with some beautiful approaches to greens, so challenging par 3's and a couple of stunning signature holes. They even have a fully functioning halfway house which is good to see and I cannot find fault with this course at all. A genuine hidden gem which doesn't get the plaudits it deserves in the shadow of some much more expensive courses.
A truly wonderful course!
We played on a very cold day and there was a touch of snowing lying around, however this was one of the best courses I've ever played. Really scenic surroundings, striking holes and overall the course was in good condition. Paul in the pro shop was very welcoming and helpful. Will definately return in the summer!
Great conditions considering the rain earlier in the week. Greens were fantastic for the time of year. Wouldn't hesitate to play their again.
Excellent...
Recently home to the English Amateur and you can see why, as despite it being late in the season the course was in fine condition, save the tee boxes. A really good layout, plenty of interesting holes, especially the par 3s, with the 17th being one of the best you will find. It's longer than average off the yellows so a bit of length off the tee is necessary. The greens are often small and have some subtle and not so subtle breaks in them. Bunkers are in great condition and a wavering breeze added to the test. £45 well spent.
Extremely nice course
I had never played Headingley and had no expectations. The course was immaculate and the course had a fantastic range of holes. I will most certainly be coming back!
Quality coirse
Played after yet more heavy rain but the course was in great condition. Fairways like carpet and greens top class. Some lovely holes, a few holes a bit samey up and back down the hill but overall a very enjoyable course to play.
