Nice course but the greens lack drainage

We played on a cloudy morning following rain overnight. The course is well kept so everything looks great. The only problem was the greens lack drainage so were very very wet. Even when we got round to our 2 play (we played 18 on this 9 hole course) some of the greens were fast while others were still wet and spongy and very slow.

A Bit Mediocre

As the previous review has stated, there isn’t much to excite about this course. It’s not in the best condition and disappointingly all the greens had been prodded (not a technical term) so they had holes all over them I assume for drainage purposes.

I give some leeway for time of year and the fact it was the only course open but I won’t play there again. It’s pretty uninspiring.

Poor Course

There were essentially no fairways. The grass on the fairway was longer than most rough you'd find. The greens had drainage holes everywhere. This wasn't made clear when we booked. No idea if this is an all year round thing or if it was just because it was November but we won't be returning.

Fantastic 9 hole challenge

Play 9 or 18 it's definitely a good challenge.
Evey member and staff is very welcoming.
Excellent value for money.
The course has improved so much over the last year and now with an extra added challenge of a stream / ditch running across the 7th fairway and also blue tees being introduced.
Membership fees excellent value for money , a must for all abilities

Great 9 hole course

This 9 hole course is one of the best I’ve played, only 2 par 3’s but some nice par 4’s and 2 par 5’s. Makes it a nicely challenging course. Course is in great condition and the staff at the small club house/pro shop are very friendly. 2 driving nets for warm up and putting green. Great value for money. Will be back again.

Really nice 9 hole course

Really enjoyed our first time here. Good challenge over 9 holes for a relative beginner, great views on every tee box. One of our group lost his car keys and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, let us take a buggy out and look for them, we did find them thankfully. Will definitely be playing here regularly.

Great value for money

This is a fantastic 9 hole golf course for the money. Greens generally roll true and it’s a great layout, with a nice mix of wide holes and challenging narrow ones. There’s some dramatic elevation changes so clubbing can take a few rounds to get used too.

The 3rd is my favourite, a decent length par 5 with a tight drive and trees extending to the left side of the fairway around driving distance - a slight pull off the tee limits your options significantly and will force your second shot further to the right, making the green less visible on the approach and bringing the canal further into play.

Up the hill or down?

As a person who likes to walk the course carrying my clubs - this was a challanging 18 holes for me. Reason for this is youre either going down the hill or up it for the most part.

The course is very good, its a 9-hole course which you can play around twice. The fairways are large and forgiving and the greens were in good condition considering the weather has been very poor recently.

The things I think could improve it are; distance boards per hole as there is nothing saying what hole you were stood on and a tarmaced carpark as I felt my suspension nearly falling off my car on the way in.

Other than that, great course, good exercise and you are surrounded by wildlife (saw a herd of deer on my way around)

Basic but interesting course

A challenging 9 hole layout- very hilly but each hole is well thought out.
Very quiet on the day we played and excellent value for money.
Brilliant views of the surrounding hills too.
