Great course
I do have a soft spot for this course having been a junior member from 81 to 87!! The course itself hasn't changed, but the trees are bigger though improvements to the bunkers are great. Course was in good condition all round. Really enjoyable only to be cut short by the weather and the hooter sounded due to thunder, lightning and rain like Thunder Thursday which flooded the course. Nevermind, a quick pint in the clubhouse bar which I never got to go in as a junior, watching the weather was great, as the weather atmosphere knocked out the sky signal!
Lovely course.
Lovely course. Maybe not for beginner golfers, especially at the weekend. We did feel under a bit of pressure from groups behind, but fellow golfers were understanding.
Excellent facilities, including a toilet at the 9th hole.
Maybe a course for those hitting 90 and below.
decent course....thought thr tee boxes were poor...didnt think it was worth 28 pound a round...played a lot better course's for half the price through golf now.
lady in pro shop really friendly...few really nice holes.
overall 6 out of 10
Really nice course
Really nice course. Excellent condition after some poor weather.
Varied holes, some quite nice for beginner golfers, others mire challenging.
Couldn't ask for more at £14 a head.
Lovely course
It had rained very heavily all week before we played this lovely course so despite it being August it felt like winter conditions. The grass even on the fairways was long and very wet which meant there was litttle to no run on the ball. As a woman I found the carry from the tee to be very long on several of the holes which made it quite difgicult to score. I would recommend it in better weather and particularly for men/long hitters. Nice friendly atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming..
Interesting course
Interesting course. It pretty much plays as a flat course, meaning the tee area, fairways and greens are generally on the same level. But if you miss the fairway or end up short you may may end in a deep valley. It also means there is a lot of up and down walking. That being said I kind of enjoyed this quirky side of the course.
The course was generally in very good condition.
From a pace of play point of view the first 9 holes were a bit challenging as I played on my own and had a group of 3 very slow senior golfers in front of me. Despite their balls ended all over the place and there were no groups directly ahead of them they didn't let me play through. No bad faith from their side I believe, just not on their mind. So I spent a lot of time waiting for them. After 9 holes they disappeared (maybe had a break in the clubhouse) and I could play a lot faster. Several other groups let me play through.
Members were very welcoming and friendly as well.
Impressive Course
First time playing here but impressed with course condition despite days of heavy rain.
Would definitely return.
A Gem Of A Course In The Northeast
I headed to Tynemouth GC last week when all the other local courses were either closed or on 18 temporary greens. I was really impressed with the course, especially the greens. I'm sure my putt on the 7th had a triple break in! You're happy to 2 putt any of the greens here. Challenging holes that need some thought Tee to Green. I joined two Members who couldn't have more welcoming along with all the staff. Great club and well worth a visit! Will definitely be back soon and highly recommended!
Course Closed
Turned up in plenty of time. Course closed. No prior notice. No refund from GolfNow so far.
Not a happy chappy. There seems to be no refund policy in this instance.
Better than I remembered
I haven’t played here in over ten years cracking little course the wind was blowing a hoolie which made it quite a challenging day, greens were in good condition, look forward to playing here again hopefully a little less windy
Stuck in the old ages
If you aren’t a member, then they won’t like you, stuck up and it’s members like this that give golf a bad name. Avoid this place like the plague if you don’t have a posh accent.
Summer golf
Course in great condition, such a different game playing in summer.
